Hygiene

Rachels Creations are dedicated to providing the most hygienic service possible. We use a clean sponge for each and every client. We do however appreciate being presented with clean faces to be painted. Please wipe noses too. All kit is thoroughly cleaned after each event. Sponges are cleaned in the washing machine on the 95°C cycle and brushes are washed with hot soapy water and a cosmetic brush cleanser.

Professional Face and Body Paints

We use only the highest quality, professional products, which are designed for use on the skin (take a look in our online face paint shop www.fantasypaints4u.co.uk). The paints are hypoallergenic and comply with stringent EEC and FDA cosmetic guidelines.  However, this does not preclude an allergic reaction; Rachels Creations will not be liable for allergic reactions to paints. If your child has very sensitive skin, or is allergic to a range of common products, please do discuss this before the child is painted. It is always possible to carry out a patch test, or to paint a small design on the hand (where skin is less sensitive) to be on the safe side.

Who Can be Painted ?

Face paint is not recommended for children under 3 years old. If a child is reluctant to have his or her face painted, we will not comply with the wishes of the parent or carer over the desire of the child! Young children do not always understand face painting - someone they do not know is doing something to them, which they cannot see - so a small design on the hand may be more enjoyable for them. They can see what is being done, feel in control of the situation, and can look at it and enjoy it for the rest of the day. We will not paint anyone who, in the opinion of the painter, appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis or any other infectious skin complaint. Similarly, eczema, open cuts and grazes are not suitable surfaces to paint. However, a design on the cheek, hand or arm is perfectly possible. We are unable to paint anyone suffering from cold/flu symptoms. Hayfever sufferers are advised to have a design on the cheek or hand. We reserve the right to refuse to paint anyone who is abusive, violent, or intoxicated.

Removing our Face Paint

The best way to wash off our face paint is to simply use warm water!  (Baby wipes are made for little bottoms and some brands can cause a reaction on facial skin).  Our face paints generally wash off clothing very easily. We will exercise reasonable caution but will not be responsible for damage to clothing or property.

Equipment Please do not touch, or allow children to touch or play with the paints and equipment. For safety reasons, children (and adults) are not permitted to play in the face painter’s work area and the we will not be liable for any damage or injuries should this occur. Parents and carers are responsible for their children at all times!
